Objective
Recognizing that the majority of Canadians who now live and work in communities other than those in which they were born, first visited their current community of residence as tourists, the municipalities in SW Saskatchewan formed to create a “Hub” to the Saskatchewan Southwest region. Seeking to not only provide a visitor guide to all the great tourism destinations in the area, but also provide employment and business opportunities to showcase and encourage relocation to the region.
The tourism industry injects nearly $153,000,000.00 annually into the economy of Southwest
Saskatchewan. The Trans-Canada TIA hub is well positioned to both receive visitors coming to explore the region and to intercept Trans-Canada travellers who are unaware of what Southwest Saskatchewan has to offer. More than just a location along the #1 where travellers can use a restroom and pick-up a roadmap, the TIA hub is a miniature of the region, offering travellers an immersive taste of the visitor experiences and investment opportunities available throughout Southwest Saskatchewan.
The TIA hub features several “Pop-Up Stores” that offer a taste of the retail experiences travellers can expect to encounter as they explore the region. The objectives of the Pop-Up Stores are to showcase the diversity of unique and appealing retail experiences available in the region.
